About “Her True Form”
Humanist “fauxdoir” photography that puts people above poses
What is “Fauxdoir”?
The unique style of Eric Duncan’s photography embodies the spirit of boudoir, but emphasizes settings, wardrobes, poses, and expressions that are more realistic than the polished glamour and raw sexuality that defines classic boudoir. We call it “fauxdoir” to set the appropriate expectation: less high-end luxury, more everyday lifestyle warmth.
The north star of the “Her True Form” style is defined by four key qualities: cute, cozy, casual, and candid. Every image taken in a Her True Form session aims to embody at least one of those qualities, if not all of them:
Cute
The goal of Her True Form is for personality to jump off the page. Every great photographer makes their boudoir shoots the time of their clients’ lives–but our shoots aim to show it. Anticipate more smiles, more flirtiness, more of you in every image.
Cozy
At the end of the day, “Her True Form” shots feel intimate without being overtly sexual. We view boudoir as more of a lifestyle aesthetic than traditional erotica interpretations. Don’t get us wrong: we know boudoir is erotic by nature. But Her True Form strives to preserve innocence in the beauty of boudoir.
Casual
We believe there is more to glamor than opulent settings and expensive lingerie. Our shoots explore the beauty of comfort, placing subjects in familiar settings with natural poses wearing everyday wardrobe.
Candid
We provide comprehensive posing and coaching throughout the shoot, but still leave plenty of room for natural “in-between” moments to be captured. There is plenty of untapped beauty in the unexpected.
